Machine Safety Revision

Within the scope of the safety revision carried out on the pallet stretch wrapping machine; a light curtain (PL e), emergency stop buttons, and radar sensors were added, bringing the system into compliance with EN ISO 13849‑1 and EN 60204‑1 standards.

Safety revisions carried out on the stretch wrapping machine were implemented to enhance operator protection and ensure compliance with international standards. As a result of these measures, both mechanical and electrical safety systems were reinforced, and protection distances were optimized based on risk analysis.

  • A light curtain (PL e) was integrated, with the safety distance calculated in accordance with EN ISO 13855.

  • Emergency stop buttons were installed on the operator panel and the cabinet cover, ensuring compliance with EN 60204‑1.

  • Radar sensors were mounted to provide workspace monitoring in line with EN 61496.

  • The main contactor and electrical connections were renewed in compliance with the LVD (2014/35/EU) directive.

  • An authorization key and reset procedure were implemented to ensure control system safety under EN ISO 13849‑1.

  • In the safety distance report, stopping time measurements confirmed a calculated , verifying the adequacy of the existing distance.

In conclusion, these revisions brought the stretch wrapping machine into full compliance with European Union directives and EN standards, elevating operator safety to the highest level. The improvements ensure safe operation, long-term reliability, and complete adherence to regulatory requirements.
